Walter Emery Thomas

Walter “Emery” Thomas, Jr., of Russell Springs, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 1, 2024.  He was 71 years of age.

Born November 9, 1952, in Russell County, he was a son of Walter and Dorselma Cash Thomas.  Emery was a long-time farmer. He attended Russell Springs United Methodist Church for many years.

Survivors include a son, Brad (and Kellie Jo) Thomas, of Harrodsburg; a daughter, Jessica (and Zach) Whitis, of Somerset; one sister, Emily June Pinkerton, of Texas; one granddaughter, Brynlee Thomas; and special friends, Brenda Shoopman, and her son, James Earl Shoopman.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as many old, life-long friends.

All services will be private.  Burial will be in Russell Springs City Cemetery.
