Wayne Hopper

Wayne Hopper, of Lebanon, Tennessee, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023, at Alive Hospice Facility, in Nashville.  He was 65 years of age.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Reese Hopper; his daughter, Clancey Caroline Hopper, of Lebanon, Tennessee; his father, Donald Gleason Hopper, of Russell Springs; his sisters, Vicki (and Ronald) Wysocki, of Worthington, Ohio, Sherri Hartman, of Russell Springs, and Kimberly (and John) Francis, of Bridgeton, Missouri; his nephews, Jeffrey Potts, Zachary Wysocki and Tristan (and Sarah) Francis; his niece, Madelynn (and Jacob) Hendrickson; four very special great-nieces, Dylan Potts, Jael Hendrickson, Nava Hendrickson and Talia Hendrickson; and his mother-in-law, Wanda Reese of Lebanon. Wayne is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Kerr Hopper. 

Wayne was a wonderful husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, friend, and coworker. He loved his church family of Fairview Church, Lebanon, TN, and especially his Agape Sunday School class.  He was a lifelong learner, still taking classes in mathematics, painting, and naturalist pursuits. After earning his B.S. in Civil Engineering Technology, Wayne worked for Zurn Industries, Gray Construction, and, for the last 26 years, with Precision Erection Company, Inc., where he was Vice President of Business Development. Wayne was incredibly supportive of individuals with Williams Syndrome (especially daughter Clancey) and of all individuals with disabilities.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. John Francis and Bro. Keith Truelove officiating.  Interment will follow in Freedom Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023, 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Bernard Funeral Home and after 8:00 a.m., Sunday until time for funeral services.
