William Walter “Bill” Bihr, of Russell Springs, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at his home. He was 95 years of age.
Born on June 26, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was a son of the late William Walter and Marie Feightner Bihr. Bill was an US Army veteran of WW II and was very proud of his military service to his country. After being discharged as a TEC 5, Bill became a police officer in Cincinnati. He liked to cook and loved good food. Bill was also an excellent debater on diverse topics and loved to watch sports.
Survivors include his wife, Leontine Grider Bihr, of Russell Springs; his daughter-in-law, Bonnie Bihr, of Florida; his granddaughter, Dilya Bihr, of Florida; his niece, Susan (and Jerry) Melton, of Russell Springs; his nephews, Steve (and Jan) Brumley, of Russell Springs, Tyler Brumley, of Russell Springs, John (Shar) Swartz, of Ohio, Keith Youtcheff, of North Carolina, and Terry Cranert, of California; and a special caregiver, Judy Bell, of Russell Springs.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his son, Michael Bihr; and several brothers and sisters.
Per Bill’s wishes, cremation rites were honored, and no services will be held.
Inurnment will take place at Mill Springs National Cemetery, in Nancy, Kentucky.
Bernard Funeral Home has been entrusted with final arrangements.
