Martina Sue Burns, of Russell Springs, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at her home. She was 43 years of age.
Martina was born July 21, 1978, in Honolulu, Hawaii, daughter of Martin Franklin, Sr. and Rosemary Bell Burns. She obtained her Registered Nurses Certificate and had worked as an independent call center contractor in recent years.
Martina was a self-less person who would do anything for anyone in need. She had a “golden heart” and was content with living a simple life. She was a Godly woman who loved Jesus and her God. Martina was family oriented, was a caregiver to many of her family, and enjoyed spending time with them all. She was an animal lover who adored her dogs, Gizmo and Gunner.
She is survived by her mother, Rosemary (and Kenneth) Gombold, of Russell Springs; her brother, Martin (and Lou) Burns, Jr., of Columbia; her sisters, Misty (and Juan) Santiago, of Russell Springs, and Christina (and Phil) Craig, of Nicholasville; nephews, Martin (and Liz) Hull, of Russell Springs, Alex Brown, of Nicholasville, and Martin “Frankie” Burns, of Columbia; nieces, Scarlett Santiago, of Russell Springs, Audrea Craig, of Nicholasville, and Autumn Miller, of Columbia; and her aunts, Polly Rickabaugh, Doris Marcum and Janet Vice.
Martina is preceded in death by her father, Martin Franklin Burns, Sr.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Martina Sue Burns will be held by her family at a later date.
